When the local electricity utility kitted out new Isuzu 4×4 trucks with a unique crane and tipper body configuration they found that the ride deteriorated to an unacceptable level. We were called in to find a fix. We determined that the centre of percussion was now in a poor position due to the weight distribution. We designed suspension modifications to address this and confirmed a substantial improvement in testing using our ride evaluation instrumentation and analysis software in accordance with AS2670.
